This note maps the two Honda chassis-code part numbers for the 1.5T GDI high-pressure fuel pump to the two manufacturing unit numbers that appear on the pump body. It is a numbering reference — not a fitting guide, and not a diagnosis aid.
🔍 The Numbers

Three layers, three purposes:
- The first 5 digits — 16790 — is Honda's functional group code for high-pressure fuel pumps. Every Honda HPFP carries it.
- The middle section — 5PC / 5LA — is the chassis/engine application code. This is what tells you which engine family the pump belongs to.
- The suffix — -H02 / -305 — tracks revision level within that application.
The unit number stamped on the pump body (0053 / 0054) is the manufacturing unit identifier. One unit number maps to one Honda part number in current supply — we check this pairing on every unit we photograph.
💡 What We See in the Market
Both chassis codes are quoted for the same engine family, which trips people up: listings sometimes show one number, the invoice another, and the box a third. In our experience the confusion comes from the three layers above being mixed freely. When we quote, we state both the Honda number and the unit number so there's nothing to reconcile on your end.
